Prince, dubbed "The Purple One" by his fans around the world, will receive a shade of his favorite hue created in his honor.
The Pantone Institute, which is known as the global color authority, has announced that it will create the standardized custom shade of purple as a way to pay tribute to the late star. The color will be named after the famous symbol that became synonymous with Prince himself. The artist had explained that the mark was unpronounceable, and therefore called it "Love Symbol #2" instead.
The special shade will take inspiration from Prince's beloved purple piano. It was a custom-made instrument that he often brought on tour with him, and it was known to play an important role in his life. Once the color is developed, fans will be able to buy various products created using the shade.
