#NoseyNeighborNews: Oprah's Moving Golden Globes Speech, Atlanta Is Back, and More!

HEY NEIGHBORS!  #NoseyNeighborNews for Monday, Jan. 8th (wit yo Nosey A$$)...

The Golden Globes took place last and Oprah and Sterling Brown were 2 of the big winners.  Sterling Brown became the first Black actor to win a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Drama for his role on “This Is Us”.  Oprah became the first black woman to ever receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award.  During her acceptance speech she spoke about everything from race to the trending #MeToo.  Check out the full speech below.

 

Kevin Gates is headed home this week and he already has plans on how he wants to spend his time out.  According to the rapper’s lawyer, he’ll be talking to troubled teens about his life in hopes that they won’t make the same mistakes he made.  Word is Kevin is anxious to get back to making music.  But in addition to that he plans on working with various youth agencies like The Boys & Girls Club.  Kevin is expected to be released from an Illinois prison on Wednesday after serving 9 months of 30 month sentence.

 

Atlanta Fans…I’ve got some good news for you!  FX announced that the hit show will officially return to tv on March 1st at 10pm.  Season 2 is being called “Atlanta Robbin’ Season" and is all about the cousins trying to navigate the Atlanta music scene.
