Excellence in Ministry Awards Luncheon

Circle K Speed Street Presented by Coca-Cola

When: May 25th to May 27th

Time: 12 noon to 11pm each day

Where: Uptown Charlotte

Please see ticket info below for this event. Circle K Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola will be rocking the streets of Charlotte with live entertainment, access to racing’s brightest stars, giveaways and interactive displays. Each day starting at noon, festival attendees will gather on Tryon Street to enjoy vendor displays, kids activities, racing-related fun and more until 8 p.m. Local, regional and national headliners will take the Coca-Cola stage starting at approximately 6:30 p.m. including Jake Owen, Billy Currington, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Lakeside. Tickets are only $15 to enjoy Friday and Saturday night headliners and $10 for Thursday’s DJ night. All other activities are free.

Carolina Fair

Where: Park Expo Center - 800 Briar Creek Rd. Charlotte, NC

To check hours of operation log onto: This year marks the 1st year of entertaining families and friends by bringing the Carolina Fair to Charlotte, NC at the Park Expo Center. It will be 10 days of family-fun, all at an affordable price! Admission is FREE for kids 4 and under, $5 for Seniors (60+) and Kids 12 and under. Adult Admission is $10. Enjoy carnival rides and fair food – plus enjoy a variety of attractions FREE with your paid fair admission. Attractions include: Meet & Greet with Disney’s Peyton List, Wolf Shows, Wild West Shows, Comedy/Magician Shows, Marvelous Mutts, Tiger Shows and more! The Carolina Fair is giving away FREE unlimited ride wristbands on their Facebook Page until Wednesday 5/25/17, find them on Facebook @NorthCarolinaFair for your chance to win.

Spring Craft Fair

When: May 27, 2017

Time: 9am to 4pm

Where: Donna Downy Studios - 501 South Statesville Road Huntersville, NC

May 27th from 9-4pm for Donna Downey Studios first Spring Craft Fair! There will be live music and various handmade craft vendors! Studio Coffee will be serving specialty coffee beverages, muffins and pastries. D9 Brewing Company will also be selling beer and Mama's Pizza Express (NC) is across the street selling pizza & Italian Food! There is Free Admission and Free Parking!!!!! Live Music Lineup: 10am-12pm: Learn Music Students 12:15pm - 2pm: BanDam We have a variety of awesome handmade art and goods including jewelry, clothing, personalized items, window pane art, crystal jewelry, pillows, shams, baby items, painted rocks, henna, pottery, home decor, bath bombs, soaps, lotions, sun catchers, wood resin jewelry, copper cuffs and more cool items.

The Queen City Sneaker Expo & 3on3 Tournament

Where: Carole A Hoefener Community Center - 610 East 7th Street charlotte, NC

The Queen City Sneaker Expo & 3on3 Tournament is the #1 "Sneaker Culture" event in North Carolina. Taking place in Charlotte this is a BUY/SELL/TRADE event. Custom exclusive sneakers plus some of your retro or classic favorites. There is also a 3on3 tournament (three age divisions) with cash prizes and trophies for the winners. Joy Fest 2017

When: May 27, 2017

Time: 3pm to 10pm

Where: Carowinds Paladium Theatre - 14523 Carowinds Blvd Charlotte, NC

One of the country’s largest gospel music festivals is returning to Carowinds! Be blessed and inspired from award-winning gospel musicians including Kirk Franklin, The Mann Family, Tasha Cobbs, Travis Greene, and Dee-1. Carowinds will be open from 10am-10pm on the day of the event. JoyFest will begin at about 3 p.m. and continue until about 10:10 p.m. Carolina Harbor will be open from 11am-7pm! Admission ranges from $25 to $50.

Long Live Arts Festival

When: June 3, 2017

Where: 550 S. Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

Levine Center for the Arts, the Gantt Center, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, the John S. and James L. Knight Theater, and the Mint Museum will host 2nd Annual #LongLiveArts FREE Community Festival! The entire community is invited to  open galleries for FREE access during regular museum hours. Also join us for the free ArtBreak tours, live entertainment, food trucks, interactive activities, and a day of culturally-festive fun!

Omegas of Charlotte Blood Drive

When: June 3, 2017

Time: 10am to 4pm

Where: 3301 Statesville Avenue in Charlotte, NC.

The Pi Phi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in conjunction with Alpha Lambda Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas (CBCC) will hold their annual Charles Drew Blood Drive and Health Fair on Saturday, June 3rd from 10am to 4pm at the Omegas of Charlotte Fraternity House at 3301 Statesville Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Charles Drew Blood Drive and Health Fair has consistently been one of the largest contributors of units of blood in the African American community in North and South Carolina. Pi Phi Chapter’s efforts were recognized by the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas in 2016 as one of CBCC’s top donors. With your help this year we can repeat that honor.

Walk To End Lupus NOW

When: June 6, 2017

Time: 9am to 1pm

Where: 425 North Kings Drive - Philip L. Van Every Culinary Arts Center

Come join the fun and support our friends and family dealing with Lupus in Charlotte, NC. Check-in is at 9:00 AM, ceremony begins at 10:30 and the walk begins at 11am. Route length is 1.25 miles. Parking is easy - provided in designated parking garage. Please stay tuned for additional information.

Matthews Alive Festival

Where: Stumptown Park - 120 South Trade Street Matthews, NC

Matthews Alive is a family-oriented festival with 3 stages of incredible music, 30+ food vendors, 150+ arts and crafts, carnival rides, and loads of fun for all ages. We are located just 10 miles from Charlotte, NC. All proceeds benefit the local nonprofit organizations in the Matthews Community.
