FREE Gold Star Families Breakfast & Tour

When: July 14, 2017

Time: 8am

Where: Billy Graham Library - 4330 Westmont Drive Charlotte, NC

The Billy Graham Library is inviting Gold Star families who lost loved ones in service to our nation. The morning fellowship is encouraging breakfast with messages of appreciation from Pastor Pat Fleming, who leads follow-up care for Operation Heal Our Patriots, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. Stick around for guided tours of The Journey of Faith that will follow the breakfast. The event is free, but space is limited so advance registration is required.

Afro Pop!

When: July 15, 2017

Time: 9pm to 2am

Where: Morehead Tavern - 300 East Morehead Street Charlotte, NC

This event is for ages 21 & up, and there’s a cost. Represent your ancestry and nationality by sporting your flag or national colors! We're also offering a limited number of tickets for $5!  Music curated The Dynamic & Purcussionist The Dynamic DJ Kato (Ifeanyi Ibeto) + DJ Steel Wheel! We'll have the bottom floor for all the festivities, and we're opening up the outdoor patio! Kizomba Charlotte will provide dance instruction from 9pm-10pm, followed by Kizomba dancing. 100th Centennial Celebration Festival of Camp Greene Military Camp

A Centennial Celebration of the U.S. Army"s establishment of Camp Greene in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County 1917.This event of significant opportunity for the U.S. Army to reinforce its relationships with our region- as its's growth and popularity with new businesses and residents has increased.


Learn Traditional Latin American Dances

When: July 21, 2017

Where: Shamrock Senior Center - 3200 Shamrock Drive Charlotte, NC

This free event is a great time to explore the mystery of Latin Dances. Come learn about the history and traditions behind the folkloric dances of Latin America. The discussion will conclude with a short dance lesson.


Teachers Career Fair

Don't miss this exciting opportunity to meet and network with 50+ CMS hiring managers. Schools will be interviewing and selecting candidates for licensed/certified positions including, teachers, media specialists and counselors. We welcome candidates from both in and out of state. We will not be staffing for school administration (Principals and Assistant Principals), central office, auxiliary, or unlicensed positions during this event.

East Side Block Music Festival

When: September 2, 2017

Where: Albemarle Road Recreation Center - 5027 Idlewild Road, N Charlotte, NC

The Inaugural East Side Block Music Festival on Charlotte's lower East Side. The festival is an outdoor event being held on the grounds of the Albemarle Road Recreation Center (baseball field). This uplifting event includes entertainment featuring local talent, food & merchandise vendors, health fair, kids' zone, exhibitors & more! The Festival is being sponsored by the Arts and Science Council in partnership with the Mecklenburg Park & Recreation and produced / organized by Dapper Street Productions for the Arts. Bring your lawn chairs, bring the family and come out and celebrate with the East Side Community.



Free Concert and Festival in Uptown Shelby

When: August 5, 2017

Where: Uptown Shelby Shelby, NC

This event begins at 8:00 am for their 5K, and all proceeds will be donated to Officer Tim Brackeen's Family 2:30 pm- Little Miss Pageant 3:00 pm- 10:00 pm- Festival. Food/Beverage Service, Pets on Leash Allowed.
