Charlotte Art Collective

When: April 29, 2017

Where: 2821 Park Road in Dilworth Charlotte, NC.

The Charlotte ART collective’s juried art show includes a lively mix of established and emerging artists. It’s always an interesting collective show that introduces new artists with favorite ones returning. CAC has successfully produced shows for more than fifteen (15) years in the Dilworth area. Great way to celebrate the Spring season in an artful frame of mind than with the Charlotte ART Collective’s Spring Show and Sale in the Dilworth/Freedom Park neighborhood on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10 am to 4 pm. This one day art show is held in the Family Life Center at Avondale Presbyterian Church at 2821 Park Road in Dilworth, between Lilac Drive and Scott Avenue. There is ample free parking for the popular show. Admission is free. Visit the website

Second Annual International Sandwich Festival

When: April 29, 2017

Time: 11am to 6pm

Where: 3800 Shamrock Drive Charlotte, NC

Aldersgate will host the Second Annual International Sandwich Festival on Saturday, April 29, 2017. The free, public festival celebrates the vibrant cultural diversity of east Charlotte, bringing international flavor and intergenerational activities to the front lawn of Aldersgate at 3800 Shamrock Drive. Enjoy food from around the world and a rich blend of entertainment featured on UNC Charlotte's Mobile Arts & Community Experience (MAX) stage. Enjoy a line-up of international music flavors; salsa, merengue, soul and dance performances from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking is free and CATS Bus #23 takes you directly to the celebration.

Healthy Kids and Families Community Day

Brisbane Academy Community Yard Sale

CDGI 3rd Annual Spring Festival

Music, Dance ‘n Que Fest

When: May 6, 2017

Time: 11am to 3pm

Where: President James K Polk State Historic Site - 12031 Lancaster Highway Pineville, NC

They’re kicking off the Spring with 2nd Annual Music, Dance ‘n Que Fest!  A time to sit back and enjoy  artists, dance, sing and play their way through historic tunes, folk songs and bluegrass music. Bring a chair or a blanket to lounge on, or snag a bale of hay to sit on. The entertainment will come at no cost, but folks can enjoy a North Carolina barbeque meal for a small fee.

Walk To End LUPUS Now!

When: May 6, 2017

Time:  9:00 am Check-in

Where: Central Piedmont Community College - 425 North Kings Drive, Charlotte, NC

Besides coming to walk for a friend or family member, feel free to bring a picnic and enjoy the vendors and entertainment. This year will be an empowering day of hope, support and passion. Bring the family and show your lupus 'flare' at the walk--wear purple, create team shirts, banners, and accessorize! Strollers and dogs on a leash are welcome. Please note: due to fire/safety hazard, no personal tents or on-site cooking equipment will be allowed. Walk Details: Check-in: 9:00 am, the ceremony begins at 10:30 am and walk begins at 11am. This year’s start and finish line will be located at Belk Plaza; the green area in front of the Philip L. Van Every Culinary Arts Center. Past walkers will remember this location from 2015. The route length is 1.25 miles.

Father Daughter Mother &Son Dance

When: May 13,2017

Time: 5pm to 8pm

Where: Have Life Church - 3165 Zion Renaissance Lane Charlotte NC

Gracious Hands is a 501 c3 homeless shelter for women with children and they’re hosting Father /Daughter Mother/Son Dance. Price of Tickets are $50.00 for two with dinner included, fun and dancing. All tickets can be purchased at  or and click on the event button. Photographer, Dance Contest,Best Dress Father/Daughter Mother/Son and more great fun.

Cheerwine Centennial Celebration

When: May 20, 2017

Where: Downtown Salisbury - North Main Street Salisbury, NC

Can you believe it’s been 100 years!  Cheerwine will thank fans for “100 years of cheer” with a free Centennial Celebration in its hometown of Salisbury, N.C. The outdoor bash will celebrate the soft drink’s centennial with live music, BBQ, food, activities for kids … and of course, free Cheerwine! Join us on Saturday, May 20 from noon to 8 p.m.

Omegas of Charlotte Blood Drive

When: June 3, 2017

Where: 3301 Statesville Avenue in Charlotte, NC.

The Pi Phi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in conjunction with Alpha Lambda Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas (CBCC) will hold their annual Charles Drew Blood Drive and Health Fair on Saturday, June 3rd from 10am to 4pm at the Omegas of Charlotte Fraternity House at 3301 Statesville Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Charles Drew Blood Drive and Health Fair has consistently been one of the largest contributors of units of blood in the African American community in North and South Carolina. Pi Phi Chapter’s efforts were recognized by the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas in 2016 as one of CBCC’s top donors. With your help this year we can repeat that honor.

Come join the fun and support our friends and family dealing with Lupus in Charlotte, NC. Check-in is at 9:00 AM, ceremony begins at 10:30 and the walk begins at 11am. Route length is 1.25 miles. Parking is easy - provided in designated parking garage. Please stay tuned for additional information.
