While getting his Hollywood Walk Of Fame star, Ice Cube said something very profound that creatives and artists tend to leave out when trying to make it.

“You know, you don’t get here by yourself and when you’re coming up doing music, movies, just trying to be creative, you never figure you’ll be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame one day… So today is not really about Ice Cube, it’s about all the people who helped me get here.”

As quoted by Billboard, he makes the point to share that so many people help you within the course of your career to get to where you’re at. And though he didn’t name anyone by name, the fact of the matter is, that’s a successful man who isn’t acting like he got to where he is today all on his own.

What was also great about this was that some of his former rap group members of N.W.A. popped in to show respect.

Keep that in mind to all of you up-and-coming artists: you can’t do it alone, so don’t act like you did.
