Ok, there’s a new trend out there. It’s called “Blackfishing.” Yep, it’s real.
In fact, a white Swedish Instagram model is being accused of doing just that. And in case you’re wondering, “blackfishing” is pretending to be black on social media in an attempt to gain followers.
Meanwhile, Emma says none of that is true. She says she gets a “deep tan” naturally from the sun and never pretended to be anything but white. She says she never intentionally mislead people about her race. She says her natural features are what they are and is sad that people are upset about it.
What do you think?
White girls if you want to pass as Black, how about using your platforms to address the injustices and discrimation actual Black people face. Don't just appropriate, Appreciate the people you are imitating #emmahallberg pic.twitter.com/gpmkvB0BZj
