What better way to celebrate Dad than with some of his favorite things?  This juicy burger combines whiskey, bacon, cheese, and beef.  What’s not to love? 


1 pound ground beef

4 slices of your favorite bacon, cooked and crumbled ( I used a maple bourbon bacon to drive the flavor home)

1/4 cup whiskey

1 T reduced sodium soy sauce

1 T Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup shredded cheddar

1/8-1/4 cup grated sweet onion

1 T seasoned bread crumbs

1-2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. smoked paprika

1/4 tsp. dried basil

1//4 tsp. pepper

buns and your favorite toppings


Combine everything except the beef in a large bowl.  Add beef and gently fold together until thoroughly combined.  Form into 4 equal patties.  Grill burgers 3-5 minutes to desired doneness.  Remove from grill, top with cheese, if desired.  I cover with a dome to melt the cheese.  Toast buns, if desired.  Serve with all your favorite toppings, and celebrate Dad and everyone else in your life!
