There’s exciting news for fans of FX’s Pose.
The series which highlights the LGBTQ ballroom scene of the ’80s and ’90s recently got renewed for its third season, shortly after the series returned for its sophomore run.
The announcement came on Monday from the show’s official Twitter page. Pose writer, director, and producer, Janet Mock also shared the exciting news on Twitter.
“Thank you FX Networks for giving us a chance and a home. Thank you to the viewers for showing up for us and making our season 2 premiere the MOST WATCHED in our series history! WE LOVE YOU,” Mock tweeted along with a photo of herself alongside Pose stars Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, and MJ Rodriguez.
The first episode of the second season of Pose garnered 1.2million viewers, and when factoring in delayed views, DVR and encore viewings, the numbers rose to 1.8 million, according to That Grape Juice.
“Pose has elevated our culture and the TV landscape like few shows before it, and we are honored to partner with co-creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals on a third season,” FX’s chairman John Landgraf said in a statement.
“Our thanks to the entire creative team, including Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall, Sherry Marsh, Janet Mock, Our Lady J, Erica Kay, the amazing cast and crew and everyone at Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions for this incredibly entertaining, enlightening and groundbreaking series.”
Pose stars Rodriguez, Moore, Jackson, and Billy Porter, among others.
