Hurricane Dorian is officially on the Carolina coast as it moves north as a Category 3 hurricane.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Dorian hit the Atlantic coast with 115 mph winds, heavy rain and the potential for life-threatening storm surge. Now the biggest concerns will be flooding along the immediate coast.
Thousands of people have already hit the road, trying to get out of the path of Dorian, which remains a powerful storm.
Charlotte Motor Speedway opened its campground for anyone needing a place to ride out the hurricane. Pam Bahn and her husband were headed to Myrtle Beach in their RV when word of Dorian turned them around.
