This is Exactly why people never want to deal with independent promoters. There are some people who know how to handle and conduct business then there are those who just try to make a quick dollar, which happened to be the case this past weekend. There was a show that had been planned by a “promoter” since August, the show was set for Oct. 4, leading up to the show the promoter had been asking everyone to post the flyer and promote the show so it could sell out. The week of the show said promoter goes dark absolutely NO ONE has heard from this person at all, their own child shows up to the show and has not heard from them nor the main act of the show. When it’s time for the show all of these people have shown up and they don’t even know that the main act hasn’t been heard and won’t be showing up for the show at all. A huge kudos goes to the owner of the venue who in turn put together a show last minute with those who did show up and adding some more as well. To this day no one has heard from that promoter, at first the feeling was that of anger and frustration but now it has turned purely into concern.

Have you ever had someone run off on you while putting an event together?
