A number of Netflix customers have received an email from the streaming service asking them to update their billing information to continue receiving service. There’s only one problem with the request…Netflix didn’t send it!

The email is actually part of a phishing scam to steal recipients’ credit card information. This particular scam has been circulating since 2017, according to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.

Netflix officials advise subscribers to never type in credit card information after following an emailed link; in fact, don’t follow an emailed link at all — instead, type “www.netflix.com” directly into your web browser to be sure you’re going to the right place.
