Congratulations are in order for the Vance Cougars as they beat Leesville road with smothering defense by a convincing score of 24-3. After losing in the championship game last the cougars came back this year with a vengeance. No one expected them to be there this year especially after losing their head coach and some of their coaching staff, but they did make it back and it was not an easy road this year, they had to beat the top 3 teams in the state all of whom were ranked nationally. Congrats again to the Vance Cougars football team for winning the state championship.
The Shelby Lions also won their 2nd consecutive state championship by shutting out Salisbury in a 34-0 rout. The win was Shelby's 11th state championship title in program history. Congratulations again to the lions.
