In honor of Black History Month there are two productions that will be making their stop here in the Queen City.

BNS Production's rendition of  August Wilson's Fences and Alvin Ailey's American Dance Theater will be at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center within a couple of weeks.

For those who are unfamiliar with the play, Fences was written in 1987 by August Wilson. This Intriguing Drama analyzes the racial relations and dynamic reality of African American experience during the 50's. Fences first opened on Broadway with James Earl Jones and Mary Alice Then revived on the big screen starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis.

Alvin Ailey's Dance Theatre founded by Alvin Ailey years after embarking on his professional career as a dancer. This Repository dance company is dedicated to enriching the American modern dance heritage and preserving the uniqueness of the African-American cultural experience starting .

Dance is said to be the hidden language of the soul. Be sure to come out and experience the path to self discovery.

Fences will be showing Feb 6-15 and Alvin Ailey's dance theater Feb 25-26.
