Brace yourself, there’s a lot of Black Girl Magic in this story. When the Washington Redskins hire former Carolina Panthers intern Jennifer King she’ll make history as the NFL’s first African-American female assistant coach. (Yaaaaaaaaaahs Sis!) Her reunion with former Panthers/now Redskins coach Ron Rivera will also make her the fourth woman with a full-time NFL assistant job.
Check out a few of her stats: King won three championships in the semi-pro Women’s Football Alliance and worked as a Alliance of American Football assistant wide receivers coach for the Arizona Hotshots. She also spent time on the field as Dartmouth College’s offensive assistant.
Way to go Jennifer! All that winning looks good on you!
