Overwhelmed with healthcare prices or out of insurance? Well 1 of the largest retailers in your neighborhood have got you covered.
Along with groceries, home necessities and accessories, Walmart super-centers are now providing a variety of primary medical services, dental care, and behavioral health services.
This new care area will have care hosts that will take customers from the waiting area to one of the care rooms in the facility. Some may even offer free zumba classes.
Analyst Simeon Gutman says “They have the ability to be one of the largest disruptive forces in health care by addressing some of health care’s major issues, including access to care in rural communities, price transparency, and even, to some extent, social determinants of health,” says Paul Schuhmacher, managing director of the health-care practice at AArete a global management consulting firm. “We could be seeing as a norm people going into Walmart for their health care in a lot of communities in this country.”
In addition to medical, dental, and eye care, the centers also provide X-rays, hearing checks, and diagnostic lab tests for things like blood glucose and lipids. The numerous amount of services can improve the quality of care.
Unlike other facilities, here a patient will know their prices upfront. Upon arrival the firsth thing a patient will notice is the price list.
It may be hard to entrust a discounted retailer with health but What a convenience it would be to combine a trip to pick up groceries and receive health services!
