This was the last CIAA in Charlotte well at least for the next 3 years, and they went out on a high note.  All of the festivities were a success and on top of that a team from NC won the actual basketball tournament which made it that much better.  There was a team that people who are actually from Charlotte could root for.  The teams in NC being good is actually good for the CIAA because it pushes the attendance of the games up being that the team is essentially in their own back yard.  Congratulations to WSSU boys basketball team for winning the tournament this year in its last year here.  I do believe that if the teams from NC continue to win in the CIAA that the tournament will come back to Charlotte in 2024 and stay for good.

Personally I am going to miss the tournament being here and I think that the CIAA dropped the ball on this one by moving to Baltimore next year.  I don't think it will have the same affect on the economy as it does in Charlotte because the people of Baltimore aren't as invested in the tournament as they are here in Charlotte.

Until next time thank you for the time we had with you here CIAA we can't wait for you to come back bigger and better.
