Did you know March is Woman`s History Month? Women Across the globe kick off this annual celebration of femininity with International Women's Day.

In honor of this annual celebration, We will be shedding light on some of  Charlotte's own Phenomenal Woman throughout the month. Today our focus is on the lovely Shannon Reaves and her bakery, KupkakeKouture Clt.

Kupcake Kouture was established in 2012.

Shannon grew up cooking and as an adult developed a love for baking. Before opening Kupkake Kouture, Shannon worked in the kitchen of an elementary school. There, her joy stemmed from seeing the students light up as they cheerfully devoured her creations. After leaving the school, Shannon continued to bake and her favorite was major holidays.

"If you have a love for something and  you don`t push it you can't expect anyone to do it..." Says Shannon as she dropped gems on pursuing your dreams.  "Have goals and know where you want to go. Know the in`s and out of your product and brand. Your family and friends can't always be your go-to. Think of ways to be seen and of good service to others."

Whenever she gets a chance, Shannon jumps on the opportunity to get involved in the community and be of good service to others.

Behind every thriving business is, of course, an inspiring force and in this case, was Shannon's mother and Diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. "I got kids. I take care of them and my mom, while being a student in school. I used it as my strength. I used to have bad muscle spasms and couldn't bake for months. Knowing that at any given moment my body could react and it could all be over makes me go even harder."  Unfortunately, her mother died in January but that only pushed Shannon even more.

My mom was a chocolate lover !!! I use to make her chocolate Reeses Kup Kakes."

All she strove to do was continue to live out her dream and make her mother proud. What another way to do that than continuing to be the phenomenal mother and baker that she is. Shannon is her boss, assistant, designer, and planner.

"The misconception that she won`t make it as a woman let alone as an African American on top of having an MS diagnosis. My mom worked three jobs and managed to raise me. I have two boys of my own and want them to see me as a strong woman." Shannon responded to the question of the misconception that a woman in her position faces.

Every year the goal is to surpass the last and enhance my footprint in the community.

Shannon also shared that March is MS Awareness and her goal this month is to send a gift to a person that wears orange on Fridays. She even spoke on creating an orange cupcake in its honor. Shannon`s love for baking is apparent in her mesmerizing delicious creations which the main ingredient is a lot of TLC. To ensure that the entire family can indulge,  Shannon has extended her creativity into dog treats.

From Making treats for CMS students to being amongst the top bakers in the area, Shannon assures us that she is here to stay and will forever make sweet memories for all to enjoy.

Be sure to follow the sweet mastermind on social media.
