With all educational institutes certain to be closed for the next couple of months parents may be a bit worried on how to go about their children continuing to learn at home. Khan Academy, a non-profit organization that has been providing teachers and students across the globe with essential learning tools online for their common curriculum such as reading, writing, math, and social/ emotional learning. The Academy provides a variety of short videos on the subjects along with exercises to help kids practice and lesson material for teachers.They have also made sure to include post secondary students with core college studies that are available online or in the app.
Amid this COVID-19 outbreak Khan Academy is providing resources to aid parents and teachers in maintaining an educational system of their own at home for students ranging from 2-18 years old.They have created schedules virtually to structure what the kids are learning and how much at a given time including the offer of a live stream so that everyone can feel connected although they are physically apart while supporting each other.
Founder Sal Khan feels it is his “duty to step up “ with his team during this crisis.Although Khan Academy is a non-profit organization, If you find the resources useful and feel the need to help philanthropically they do accept donations.
