With the shortage of hand sanitizer as COVID-19 spreads, distillery owner Tim Koether decided to convert his liquor distillery to produce sanitizer instead and provide it to the general public for free. Over the past few months, disinfectants and Hand sanitizers have been hard to find. Employees have been working continuously to restock but by the end of the day items are scarce. However, there is one Kannapolis company working to create a new disinfectant to add to the roster. This new product is said to be strong enough to even kill the germs invisible to the naked eye.

The sanitizer’s main ingredients are two different kinds of alcohol. The FDA has recently approved a new addition Benzalkonium Chloride that is available for public use over the counter.
