Sundays 6:00am-7:00am

Some of us as children had a friend that drowned, and we immediately learned that drowning is quick, it is silent, and it is also preventable. As children and families spend more time at home this summer , parents will get stressed and distracted, and many experts are trying to warn us not that the drowning could go up.

Key facts to keep in mind:

Drowning is the single leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 4
Drowning is a leading cause of death for teens
Parents are multitasking at home, risking distraction more than ever
Summer is about pools and water play
Drownings can be prevented

The American Academy of Pediatrics urges parents, and other adults, to plan multiple layers of protection to keep children and teens safe around water this summer. This is especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic, as rates of preventable childhood injuries may increase.
