According to the newly released census study, Charlotte has surpassed the city of San Francisco and is now the 15th most populous city in the United States.
That’s a 2 spot jump in the last decade because of the city’s increase in population by 19.9% from 731,000 in 2010 to 885,700 as of last July. That increase is what caused our city to jump 2 major cities in Indianapolis and San Francisco. Data shows that it passed San Fran between 2018 and 2019. The data is further evidence of the Sunbelt migration that has driven people to Charlotte from the Northeast and West.
