Ne-Yo paid tribute to George Floyd at his funeral by performing; while there, he spoke about how Floyd’s death impacted him. “50 states are protesting at the same time, this man changed the world. I just want to thank George Floyd for the sacrifice so my kids can be alright. I appreciate the sacrifice, I really do,” Ne-Yo said.
However, Ne-Yo’s comment upset a lot of people who vented on social media; many took offense to his reference of a “sacrifice.”
