XXL magazine has released the list of its highly-coveted Freshman Class for 2020. This year’s XXL Freshman Class includes Atlanta’s Mulatto, Memphis’ NLE Choppa, Chicago’s Polo G and Calboy, Las Vegas’ Baby Keem, Louisville, Ky.’s Jack Harlow, Montgomery, Ala.’s Chika,  Lil Keed, Brooklyn’s Fivio Foreign, the Bronx, N.Y.’s Lil Tjay and St. Petersburg, Fla.’s Rod Wave,  while San Francisco’s 24kGoldn took the 10th spot due to fan voting.

Mulatto took to Twitter to express her excitement regarding being included in the Freshman Class. “I been wanting to be a XXL freshman for soooo long,” the “Muwop” rapper tweeted. “This was a huge goal of mine…Every year I’d be tuned in like dang I can’t wait & now it’s finally my turn.”

Veteran rapper and Chicago native Twista congratulated the Chicago rappers (Calboy and Pol G) who were included this year. “Hard work and consistency always pays off congrats @polo.capalot & @147calboy @xxl #xxlfreshman2020,” Twista wrote on the social media platform.

Chika also took to social media to talk about being chosen. “Dropped out as a college freshman, and yet, here we are. Whew, life is cool,” she tweeted.
