After not having a preseason and having to shorten the offseason the NFL finally kicked the sesason off and we saw a lot from each team. We saw some old faces on new teams and saw some teams without a name altogether.  It’s no secret that I am one of the biggest fans of The Washington Football Team and they seriously impressed me in their first game under new head coach Ron Rivera.  After being down 17-0 to the Eagles in the first half, this team showed a lot of heart and resolve to come back and win the game 27-17.

The defense shut the eagles out in the 2 half not allowing them to score a point at all.  Carson Wentz started the game tearing apart the defense of Washington but once the defense settled in there was nothing else he could do.  Our first round draft pick Chase Young showed why he was the 2nd overall pick in this years draft.  He had 4 total tackles, 1.5 sacks and even forced a fumble.  Ryan Kerrigan became the franchises all time sack leader with 2 sacks in the game giving him 92 total sacks and even he forced a fumble also.

Turnovers were key as Washington forced 3 TOs by Carson Wentz but they didn’t commit any of them on the offensive side of the ball.

There are a lot of holes that need to be filled especially at RB but all in all it was a great comeback victory for the home team.
