Central Cabarrus kicked off their football season this past Saturday with a 23-22 victory over Concord high.  The score really doesn't indicate how good of a game it was.  Central had a 15-0 lead with 7 mins to go in the 3rd quarter and they were driving looking poised to score again until they fumbled and the spiders recovered inside their own 5 yard line and scored.

Central got the ball again but this time they threw an interception which led to the spiders scoring again and tying the game with a 2 point conversion.  Central had a chance to win the game as they drove down the field in the final minute within field goal range but they missed the FG with 2 seconds remaining in the game taking this game to overtime.

Concord got the ball first and scored on the the drive in just 2 plays and kicked the extra point taking a 22-15 lead, central got the ball on the next possession and they also scored a TD but now they have a tough decision to make, because the kicker for the team had previously missed 3 FGs in the game, so after central scored they decided to go for 2 and they converted giving them the 23-22 victory.
