A Charlotte man has been indicted in the Capitol Riots. Bradley Bennett, of Charlotte, turned himself over to authorities on April 12 after being identified as a participant in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol Riot. This past Friday, a court ruled for Bennett to stay in custody pending a trial. However, Bennett and his lawyers are urging the judge to reverse the decision, allowing him to remain out of custody prior to trial.
Bennett was identified after tips concerning his social media posts leading up to and during the riot. Posts included a tweet saying “Stormed the Capitol. Pray for us all. Arresting Patriots. This is our house.”
Another image shared on a Facebook account reads “Fair warning if this election is stolen for Biden patriots will go to war.”
Bennett was also identified in multiple photos at The Capitol on January 6th that have been turned over to authorities.
Further details on when his next trial will be are not yet known.
