There has been a manhunt going on for a week now for alleged killer Tyler Terry. Hearing how long the man hunt had been going on had the community in the Chester, Fort Lawn, Lancaster area on edge.
Hearing all that he had been accused of was scary. Originally, accusations were in regards to a murder in York County about a month ago. The suspect and a female suspect fled to St. Louis where he is suspected in two murders there. The pair returned to South Carolina and were spotted in Chester County by an officer. After being spotted, the pair led police on a high speed chase that resulted in a crash. The female companion was arrested and Terry proceeded to run into the woods.
For seven days police have been searching for the suspect. Last night, authorities in Chester County informed the public they felt they had his location in their sights and were closing in.
Operations are still taking place in Hwy 9 and Richburg Road with a strong perimeter of 200 officers.

Hwy 9 is open with only one lane East bound. Richburg Rd is only open to local traffic between Beaver Dam Rd & Hwy 9. This will be in effect for the foreseeable future. pic.twitter.com/HXn3xCS4Lx
Eventually they stated they knew the attire he was wearing to ensure the community remained vigilant.
Our aggressive multi-agency push involving over 300 law enforcement officers is still taking place near Hwy 9 and Hwy 99.

Terry is believed to be wearing all black and have no shoes.
I read last night that officers didn’t believe the manhunt would end peacefully. We then found out he had been captured.
Tyler Terry is in custody. No shots were fired by any party. Everyone (including Terry) is safe.

Now that he is in custody, he will be checked out by EMS. I’m hearing that at some point in his life he may have been homeless and may have lived in the woods. This may explain why it was difficult to catch him. We will keep you updated.
Terry will be brought here to the staging area At Lewisville High to be checked out by EMS.@wcnc https://t.co/hBuC6xSZjn pic.twitter.com/5c4A8vVgDt
