NCA&T Track team sends record number of players to NCAA regionals
The Aggie track team will compete in a program record 18 total events throughout the weekend. The outdoor men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams will send a combined 27 athletes to the 2021 NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round at the University of North Florida’s Hodge’s stadium in Jacksonville, Fla May 26-29.
The Aggies will be sending a program record 27 athletes to the east prelims which breaks the previous record for both programs of 24 set back in 2018. The program will send 13 men and 14 women to the event. That is the most females the Aggies have ever sent to a regional breaking the old mark which was 11 back in 2018. the men tied the same mark set back in 2018 by sending 13 this year.
Cambrea Sturgis and Jonah Ross lead all athletes on the team competing in four different events. They are the first 2 females in the history of the program to qualify for 4 different events at a regional. Aggies will compete in a program record 18 total events throughout the weekend.
