It’s no secret that most states have cities with high populations of rich people and others filled with more middle income and low-income residents. But there are certainly some states that have more people making a lot of money as compared to others and now a new report reveals which they are.

  • Best Life has revealed a list of the Richest States in the US, based on data from the US Census Bureau.
  • According to the US Census Bureau, the median income in the country in 2020 rose to $65,712, the highest ever recorded in the nation.
  • Overall the richest state in the US is Maryland, where the median household income is $86,738.
  • The state with the lowest median household income in Mississippi, $45,792.
