Union Academy charter school had to quarantine 150 students and staff members while they are investigating 14 active cases of covid 19 and the people who were possibly exposed to it. The school was following a more accommodating exemption policy where exemptions were approved for any reason without exception.
They now require all students, staff, volunteers, and visitors to wear face coverings indoors which started on August 2. The Head of School John Marshall said “had all of their students and staff been fully masked there may have been only 14-15 students quarantined not 150 and that going back to being fully masked is the absolute right decision.”
Some parents say this is the right choice and didn’t understand why the mask policy was relaxed in the first place.
