Randolph Ross is the NCAA Champion in the 400 meter this year, and the Raleigh native and NC A&T student will compete for Team USA in the men's 400. The qualifying rounds are set for 9:45 p.m. EDT on July 31, with the finals set for 8 a.m. EDT on August 5.

2 students from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University Trevor Stewart and Randall Ross Jr, who were already national champions in the NCAA championships, help their US olympic teammates win a gold medal in the 4×400 meter relay.

With their gold medal victory that makes them the first ever athletes from NCA&T to win a medal in any Olympic Games.  Trevor Stewart also won a bronze medal in the 4 x 4oom mixed relay.  It was the first time they had ever done this event in the olympics.
