Showtime has ordered the TV adaptation of the 1999 movie, "The Wood".  The original movie, which starred Omar Epps, Taye Diggs and Richard T. Jones, followed three black men born and raised in the gentrifying suburb of Inglewood.  It also  featured Sanaa Lathan, LisaRaye McCoy, and Malinda Williams.

The TV version will follow the three men as they try to balance fatherhood, ambition and loyalty.  They will try to determine if they are growing closer or growing apart.  No word on if the original cast will be back or a premiere date.
