70,000 plus fans flocked to Charlotte Saturday night to see the biggest game of week 1 of the 2021 college football season. The nationally televised game between No. 5 Georgia and No. 3 Clemson paired two teams with College Football Playoff hopes. And what a game it was. Surprising to some the matchup was a defensive showdown, with the lone touchdown (and the difference in the game) coming off of an interception thrown by Clemson freshman quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. Other than that both defenses held the other team to just one field goal. While the game doesn’t help Clemson’s playoff chances, if they win out and win the ACC Championship an appearance could still be in their future. The remainder of their schedule should be easier from here on out. Georgia, who wouldn’t meet up with Alabama until a potential SEC Tournament appearance, certainly gained a quality win for their playoff resume. Enjoy some photo highlights of the game below:
