Luckily for all the fall lovers, Asheville is known for having one of the longest and most vibrant fall color seasons in the country! The best time to go leaf-peeping is between 12-28th October, we recommend visiting Rough Ridge on Tanawha Trail, Beacon Heights Trail, and Whiteside Mountain Trail to see peak foliage which will make the perfect backdrop for a selfie!

If you’re looking to get into the fall season early, Aspen’s fall foliage season starts early from the 5-14th October. With 1.6 million photos under the hashtag, you can see why Aspen is such a popular spot for leaf-peeping and takes third place on our list.
