KENOSHA, WISCONSIN - NOVEMBER 18: Kyle Rittenhouse, center, looks over to his attorneys as the jury is dismissed for the day during his trial at the Kenosha County Courthouse on November 18, 2021 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Rittenhouse is accused of shooting three demonstrators, killing two of them, during a night of unrest that erupted in Kenosha after a police officer shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back while being arrested in August 2020. Rittenhouse, from Antioch, Illinois, was 17 at the time of the shooting and armed with an assault rifle. He faces counts of felony homicide and felony attempted homicide. The Kyle Rittenhouse trial has been an absolute roller coaster, but now it’s over. He was found not guilty on all charges. I knew this was the outcome and I am super upset about this.

Kyle Rittenhouse was accused of killing two and wounding one in Kenosha, WI. This crime happened during the wake of Jacob Blake. Jacob Blake was shot by a police officer multiple times in the back and the side.

There was talk that he maybe paralyzed. After some research, I found earlier this year Jacob Blake was able to take a few steps, but he is not out of the woods at all. In the wake of this shooting, protests were happening all around Kenosha. This is where the shooting that involved Kyle Rittenhouse happened.

As we learned in this trial, Rittenhouse’s mother drove him over state lines and essentially dropped him off. I’m trying to understand how and why a mother would do such a thing. He was literally placed in harms way. He is now on trial for his actions following that life changing drop off.

One of then misdemeanor charges against. Rittenhouse was dropped late in the trial. It was an underage weapons charge. According to the judge, he had to because the rifle Rittenhouse had was slightly bigger than the barrel stated in the law for the charge he was charged with. Because of this, the judge stated he had no choice but to drop the charge.

Throughout this trial, we saw what seemed like the judge was all for the defense. We saw Kyle Rittenhouse draw numbers that ultimately picked the jury in his case.

I just don’t understand how you can kill two people the way he did and get off.
