NFL Searches For Alternative Venues for Super Bowl 56 Amid COVID-19 Concerns
Super Bowl LVI (56) is set for Feb. 13th at the SoFi Stadium in LA. Unfortunately, COVID-19 restrictions might prevent that from happening. Word is the NFL is looking for alternate venues. One stadium in the running is the AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, which last hosted the big game back in 2011. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said that they do plan on playing on the 13th in LA but, “As part of our standard contingency planning process that we conduct for all regular and postseason games, we have contacted several clubs to inquire about stadium availability in the event we cannot play the Super Bowl as scheduled due to weather-related issues or unforeseen circumstances.”
Even though their are currently 32 team in the NFL, that are 30 NFL stadiums. The Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers share SoFi Stadium and the New York Giants and New York Jets share MetLife Stadium. Check out a couple pictures of the current NFL stadiums below.
