What if you had a lot of money floating around? Your money was unclaimed and you weren't even aware of it.

If you live in North Carolina, you might want to check your name for missing money. According to State Treasurer Dale Folwell, there is almost a billion dollars worth of unclaimed money just waiting to be found. This is a free and secure service provided by North Carolina Unclaimed Property to claim your lost funds.

How did the Department of State Treasure get all this money? As per NCCash.com, the funds were deposited with the office by a company that dealt with you at one time. Upon no longer being able to contact you, the company was required to send the money to the State Treasurer for safekeeping.

The 919 million dollars in unclaimed property in North Carolina can be found at NCCash.com by searching names or business names. A person may have forgotten to collect rent or utility deposits or receive unpaid insurance policy benefits if they have unclaimed property.

Additionally, the property can include items found in abandoned lockboxes or returned to the state. Unfortunately, I have nothing to claim. Although I lived in another state, I used the tool there as well. To see if you have unclaimed money click this link here.
