It is being reported that the WNBA has closed on $75 million in funding which values the league and its teams at $1 billion.  That is the biggest ever capital raise for a women’s sports property.  It is being said that the money will be used for marketing, promotion, and globalization.

This is a huge deal for the WNBA because you’ve had players like all star Center Liz Cambage calling for better pay in the WNBA and this is definitely a step in the right direction to getting female athletes the pay they deserve.
