We come up with sayings and metaphors to compare what we're going through in life to what we actually want to happen. For those who are the optimistic they are always looking at the glass as being half full. They also feel that even though bad things may happen there's something better waiting for you on the other side.
Everyone has that friend that will always tell you what you need to hear instead of what you want to hear but you never listen, that is until someone who you may not even know tells you the exact same thing that your friend was telling you previously but for whatever reason it sounds better when a stranger tells you what you need to hear about your life.
