I'm not sure but ever since the trade deadline on February 10th the Hornets have been under .500 with a record of 4-7 and losing to the top teams in the eastern conference which does not have them in a good spot right now in the playoff standings. They are still sitting in 9th place in the east which has them in the play in tournament but that would be the 2nd year in a row they've been there without actually securing a playoff spot.
The Hornets lost again which was the 2nd of back to back home games to the Boston Celtics and yes again another star came into the Hive and took over. Jayson Tatum came to the Queen City just one night after Kyrie Irving dropped 50 points Tatum comes in and puts up 44 points against the Hornets while shooting 66% from the field.
No one on the Hornets scored more than 17 points and for the last few games they just haven't looked excited about playing basketball. I don't know what changes need to be made but something needs to be done in order to get the excitement back around this time.
