Airport Officials telling people to arrive 3 hours early

With schools going into spring break over the next two weeks airport officials are issuing a warning to their travelers.  Arrive early to the airport because officials are expecting more travelers this year and are asking people to arrive at least 3 hours before their flight.

Before 5 a.m. Friday morning, lines were long as travelers checked in for their flights.

CLT officials also want travelers to know about the parking situation. Currently, long-term parking lot 1 is full and closed as of 8 a.m. Friday, while long-term lot 2 is open with plenty of spaces available. Passengers should keep in mind that can change by the hour and for those not flying out until Sunday, both lots could be full by then.

Despite an uptick in some COVID-19 numbers in other states and high gas prices, experts are predicting more people will be traveling this spring and summer.
