Atrium having to refund patients
In South Carolina, hospitals, medical facilities, and rehab centers have been garnishing more than $390 million in tax refunds and wages since 2018. After an investigation raised questions about if the debtors are told that they can protest the collection which is their legal right.

- Greenville Hospital Authority – $52 million
- Regional Medical Center – $39.5 million
- Self Regional Healthcare – $22 million
- Atrium – $20.5 million
