Venus & Serena Williams Have Played Their Final Doubles Match Together

Venus and Serena Williams have played their final doubles match together.  The superstar sisters lost in the first round of the US Open doubles match Thursday night.

Arthur Ashe stadium had never hosted a first-round doubles match for women or men until this match.  This was the first time the sisters had partnered up since the 2018 French Open.  Combined, they have 14 Grand Slam titles in doubles.

Serena Williams’ historic U.S. Open run will continue on Friday, September 2nd and it could be the last time that we see her on the court.  The 23-time Grand Slam winner has said she plans to retire after the U.S. Open.  After wins in the first two rounds, Williams will face Ajla Tomljanović in Round 3 on Friday, airing on ESPN2.
