Arrest warrant issued for friend of Shanquella Robinson

BROOKLYN CENTER, MINNESOTA – APRIL 12: A handcuff is used to secure fences to keep demonstrators away from the Brooklyn Center police station on April 12, 2021 in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. People have taken to the streets to protest after Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old Black man, was shot and killed by Brooklyn Center police officer Kimberly Potter during a traffic stop yesterday. The Shanquella Robinson case has been a strange case, but very public as it should be. This evening, an arrest warrant was issued in this case.

I remember when I first heard about this case. It broke my heart to hear of her passing, but it was the story surrounding her death that was worse. Shanquella and a few of her friends went to Cabo back in October and approximately one day after arriving, Shanquella was dead.

Her family was told it was alcohol poisoning, but after an autopsy was completed, they were shocked to find that it was a lie. There ended up being no alcohol in her system, but yet a broken neck and a spinal injury causing her death. This evening, WSOC announced that an arrest warrant for the crime of femicide was issued for one of Shanquella's friends. Which friend had not been released at the time this story was written. The story did mention that an Interpol alert was issued, and according to what I found online, femicide is a serious crime and could carry 40-60 years. We will keep updated on this developing story.
