J. Cole told Morray to trash his album multiple times before he had what he calls “the one”. The North Carolina native says he respects J. Cole because “he gon’ give you Cole. But I love that because he’s not afraid to tell you what you don’t wanna hear to make you better.” Cole told the rapper he “wasn’t ready” to put out an album, so it was back to the drawing board, and now he says he has an album he thinks Cole would be proud of; the only problem is Cole hasn’t heard it yet. “I didn’t give it to him yet,” said Morray. “This is how I know this is the one. I want him to be surprised.” Morray was well-received by Cole after releasing his debut song, “Quicksand,” which led to him opening for J. Cole on his “The Off-Season Tour.”
