New Dateline Special Gives New Outlook On Murdaugh Murders
I have followed the Alex Murdaugh situation since the beginning. There have been many specials on this case, but the new Dateline special gives a new outlook.
The Murdaugh murders was indeed a tangled web of all types of different things. There are different components of this case. Initially, the first issue involved the youngest son and victim of murder, Paul Murdaugh. He was accused of drinking underage while driving a boat that crashed. One person, Mallory Beach, was killed as a result of the accident. The family was accused of attempting to cover this up and say someone else was driving the boat. Eventually, it caught up to Paul and he was charged. As a result, a lawsuit was filed by the young lady’s family.
After all of this happened, there was yet another tragedy. Paul and his mother Maggie were murdered on their Moselle property and Alex Murdaugh was the prime suspect. Eventually he was charged, convicted, and sentenced to two consecutive life sentences for the crimes. Now, in the middle of all of this, Alex Murdaugh also admitted to a number of financial crimes. He had stolen millions of dollars from various clients. Alex Murdaugh comes from a family of clout and their name means everything to them.
