I've been practicing my reaction when I win the lottery. Even lining up a CPA and attorney. Melissa Corano-Juarez of Charlotte purchased a $5 scratch-off ticket and won a $200,000 prize. Melissa said she thought her 5-dollar scratch-off ticket was going to yield $50 or $100, but not the case. After arriving home she checked the ticket and found a much bigger prize. In her words, “I just scratched it off and it said $200,000, so I was just in complete shock and started shaking and I was really happy.”

Corano-Juarez, 21, bought her Ice scratch-off at the Raceway Amoco on Lyles Lane in Concord. After the shock of winning she visited lottery headquarters in Raleigh Wednesday to collect her prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $142,501. Like most lottery winners she plans to put the money in savings. When looking for proven winning tickets, check out the Ice game that debuted in December with six top prizes of $200,000. After Corano-Juarez’s bit win, four top prizes are remaining.
