That’s right, the Food Network says that this is the most iconic food in South Carolina and I can’t argue because it is a staple. In almost every restaurant we visit when my aunt is visiting Charleston, she always wants an order of she-crab soup. It’s her favorite soup by far! This Carolina classic dish is similar to bisque and typically blends cream, fresh crabmeat, red-orange roe, and a little bit of sherry. The dish is a big staple in the Lowcountry parts of South Carolina such as Charleston and even the Hilton Head area.
