Tory Lanez Sentencing Pushed Back Again
The fate of Tory Lanez is not yet over. Tory Lanez was scheduled to be sentenced today, but reports are saying the sentencing has been pushed back again.
Back in 2020, in the early morning hours July 12th into the 13th, the unthinkable happened. Megan The Stallion and former best friend Kelsey, Tory, and a bodyguard were riding in an SUV. They were attending a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s house. While I’m the SUV, an argument ensued, shots were fired, and Megan was left with bullet fragments in her foot. There were so many stories out there about what happened. One of those discussed how both Megan and Kelsey were allegedly sleeping with Tory. Allegedly Kelsey found out about the situation and that is what caused the argument. This is all alleged, however, a lot of online bloggers, users, and more believed.
During the Lanez trial, a lot of people thought the DNA evidence presented was a bombshell for Tory Lanez. After his DNA wasn’t found on the gun, I think a lot of people may have thought it created reasonable doubt. Obviously, it didn’t, because Lanez was later found guilty and faced up to 22 years in prison and possible deportation for the crime.
After the guilty verdict, Lanez secured a new legal team, and motions were submitted for a new trial. Those motions were later denied. There was also a request to delay his sentencing. Prosecutors are allegedly seeking 13 years. As we awaited the sentencing update, reports started to leak of the sentencing date being pushed back again. This could mean there was something last minute that possibly needed additional review. Could this be a good sign for Tory Lanez? Many outlets, including Forbes are reporting the delay. This case has been one roller coaster ride.
#ToryLanez new sentencing date is set for August 7th. Tory’s team will respond to the prosecution’s sentencing memo by August 1.
