Soon Patrons Can Legally Drink Alcohol In The Streets of Plaza Midwood
Plaza Midwood is a flourishing area in Charlotte, but becoming a social district will change the game. This means soon patrons can legally drink alcohol in the streets of Plaza Midwood.
I am sure we have all been out bar hopping at some time in your life and wished you could walk from spot to spot with your drink. If it’s time to go and you aren’t finished with your drink, there are two options mainly. You can either leave your drink, or drink it down. Drinking a drink down fast can be bad for you if you’re a light drinker. Social districts are great because they allow patrons to drink alcohol legally in the streets in a certain area. I remember going to the Bahamas and being able to walk around with my drink. It literally blew my mind, but it was cool.
Now, Charlotte will somewhat have this same thing. Plaza Midwood has been growing, but now this will send the growth out of here like a rocket. The district will be managed by a combined groups. The groups consist of neighborhood groups of surrounding areas and the merchant’s association according to Axios Charlotte. The approved social district drinks will be served in a reusable cup and will utilize a sticker program. The stickers show when the drink was purchased. This keeps patrons from coming to the district with drinks of their own. The entire Plaza Midwood area won’t be a social district. There will be boundaries.
