Drake: Bobbi Althoff Denies Beef With Rapper
Bobbi Althoff, the host of The Really Good Podcast explained in a recent interview her current relationship with Drake after their viral interview was scrubbed from the internet. Althoff was a guest on Keke Palmer’s podcast Baby, It’s Keke Palmer, published on Tuesday (Jan. 30). Althoff said she spoke to the rapper a few weeks ago but is lost on why they don’t follow each other anymore.
“I guess we’ll never know,” she said, before adding: “He’s a very nice person and he definitely clearly changed the trajectory of my whole career.”
Althoff started her podcast in April 2023, and she spoke to Cosmopolitan about how she was able to secure the coveted Drake interview.
“I decided to just go for it and shoot my shot. I DMed Drake and asked if he wanted to be on my podcast, and he said yes,” Althoff said. “He sent me his touring schedule, and I knew that I needed to make it happen fast, so my friend and I flew to Memphis two days after the original DM was sent to record the episode.”
Fan Theories Why Drake’s Bobbi Althoff Interview Was Taken Down
Back in September, TikToker (@PhotogSteve81) explained how everything allegedly went down.
“Drake paid her travel to come to his location,”@PhotogSteve81 began. “Negotiated where his team would produce, film, and control mostly everything about the podcast. He then goes on to play Tyga’s ‘Rack City.’ He specifically leaves it playing and airs a very long clip in the episode which now appears to have been his leverage he planted in the beginning.”
But why would it be taken down?
The biggest question after seeing that this could have been a cause of the interview being taken down, is “why?” The social media user further explains. “Drake’s team reached out to Universal Music Group, which owns the rights to ‘Rack City’ and filed a copyright strike against Bobbi’s podcast,” the social media user suggests but it has not been confirmed. “They filed it under the terms that YouTube has with Universal Music. This meant that all of the proceeds from the podcast would have to be turned over to Universal Music or Bobbi would be facing a very large lawsuit… Bobbi’s team, realizing they would not be able to monetize their biggest podcast in history, decided to pull the podcast.”
Drake, Universal Music Group, nor Althoff have publicly supported this theory.
